After logging in to Nobilista, click "Preferred Landing Page" in the sidebar to access the Preferred URL Settings page.

From the drop-down menu at the top, select the website for which you want to set a preferred URL.

The keywords registered for the selected website will then be displayed below, so you can set a preferred URL for any keyword.

How to Register a Priority URL02

There are three main ways to set a preferred URL.

The first is to set it keyword by keyword.
Click the gear icon in the "Settings" column for each keyword.
A modal for setting the preferred URL will then appear.

Enter the preferred URL in the input form in the modal and click "Save" if there are no problems.

The second method is to set a priority URL for multiple keywords at once.
Check the boxes for the keywords you want to set a priority URL for all at once.
The "Bulk PLP setting" button will then become operational.

If there are no problems, click "Save".
This completes the bulk setting of preferred URLs.

The third method is to upload CSV data.
The above two methods involve setting preferred URLs directly on the Nobilista screen, but this method allows you to upload in bulk using CSV data.
This method is recommended when setting preferred URLs for more than 1,000 keywords.

How to Register a Priority URL07

First, download the original CSV data.
Click the "here" part of the message "Please download the original data from here." to download the original data.
Expand the downloaded data and enter the relevant URL in the "PLP" column.
(If you're using Excel, we recommend using a function such as Vlookup to enter the data all at once.)

Once your CSV data is complete, upload it using the "CSV Upload" button.
Once the upload is complete, it will automatically appear in the list below.

*CSV uploading is the same as overwriting data.

Just to be sure, please double-check that the priority URL for each keyword is entered correctly.

How to Check the Ranking Status of a Preferred Landing Page

How to check the ranking status of your preferred URL

Check whether the URLs you set on the Preferred URL Settings page are properly ranking in search results.
First, access the Keyword Report for the website you want to check.

Check the "Preferred URL" column to see if the URLs you set are ranking.
The icons displayed in the Preferred URL column and their conditions are as follows:

Various display conditions for preferred URLs

Whether or not a preferred URL is set Conditions Display icon
Preferred URL is set If the page containing the entered URL string is displayed at the top of the results list *1
If the page containing the URL you entered is not displayed at the top of the results list *1 *2
Other than the above -

*1 If you enter "example.com/xxx/" as the preferred URL, pages that include example.com/xxx/ in the URL, such as "example.com/xxx/●●●/" or "example.com/xxx/▲▲▲.php", will be targeted.

*2 If you enter "example.com/xxx/" as the preferred URL, this will be displayed even if pages that do not include example.com/xxx/ in the URL, such as "example.com/●●●/" or "example.com/▲▲▲.php", are ranked higher.

You can also sort the preferred URL column by clicking the "v" next to the header row.
For example, prioritizing keywords marked with "X" will make it easier to investigate which pages need improvement.

What to Do if a Preferred Landing Page Isn't Ranking

What to do if your preferred URL isn't ranking01

If the URL you've set as your preferred URL isn't ranking in search results, it's possible that a page targeting the same keywords exists and is being ranked higher by Google (duplicate content).
You must take one of the following actions to prevent pages other than your preferred URL from being ranked higher for the keywords in question.

What to do if your preferred URL isn't ranking02
  • Modify the title tag or page content to focus on other targeted keywords.
  • Canonicalize the URL to the preferred URL and normalize it.
  • Redirect to the preferred URL.
  • Add a Noindex tag.
  • Restrict crawling with Robots.txt.

However, you should carefully consider which of the above measures to take.
If you're unsure which measure to take, we recommend consulting a professional.
